ADVANCE was developed by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) to empower pharmacists and other pharmacy professionals to achieve their professional goals while meeting requirements needed for licensure, employment, and professional involvement. It creates an intersection for professional requirements and the personal aspects of each individual: their strengths, skills, interests, attributes, well-being, and career goals. Based on this overlay, ADVANCE connects pharmacy professionals to industry-leading activities that meet individualized needs for professional growth and fulfillment.

ADVANCE serves as the central connection between pharmacy professionals, employers, schools and colleges of pharmacy, and the activities that can move these stakeholders forward. It can often feel that organizational and individual goals are not aligned. ADVANCE is the go-to solution to find the short-term common ground, while preparing pharmacy professionals for long-term achievement of their professional goals.

The ADVANCE system is a sophisticated web application, conceived by pharmacists and built securely in the cloud by a technology partner with experience in the health care, defense, finance, and professional association industries. The system is user-friendly, intuitive, and secure.

ADVANCE is implemented on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure, the industry leader in cloud computing. ADVANCE takes full advantage of AWS’s security and reliability. All AWS resources are configured in a highly available manner.

The security of information in ADVANCE is our highest technological priority. Our security features include:

Data access is highly restricted and accessible only by authorized users.
ADVANCE tracks and logs user access and change history for auditing and analysis.

ADVANCE leverages the infrastructure of the Pharmacy Profiles platform to provide an integrated experience between maintaining professional credentials and purposeful professional development. This partnership fuels the single sign-on between ADVANCE and Pharmacy Profiles and the flow of certain Profile information into your ADVANCE Plan. APhA and Pharmacy Profiles partner with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and others to integrate data from other sources to simplify the user interface and experience.
